- Coloring Page #257 - A Woolly Mammoth
Here is a wonderful coloring page of a woolly mammoth, a prehistoric animal that lived thousands of years ago during the Ice Age. A cousin of today's elephant, the mammoth is easy to recognize thanks to its massive size, its thick fur that protected it from the cold, and its long curved tusks.
Mammoths lived in herds and mainly ate grass, leaves, and branches. They shared their environment with the first humans, who hunted them for their meat, fur, and bones. Their disappearance is still studied today: scientists believe it was caused both by climate change and by intensive hunting.
By coloring this mammoth, you travel back in time and discover one of the most iconic animals of prehistory. You can imagine it in dark brown, golden red, or even gray, just like its modern elephant cousins.
