The first Wise Man is Melchior — an elderly king with a white beard who offers gold, a symbol of royalty, to baby Jesus. The second, Gaspar, comes from Asia. He brings frankincense, a precious perfume used for prayers. And the third, Balthazar, comes from Africa. He offers myrrh, a fragrant resin that represents kindness and eternal life. Each king represents a different continent, skin color, and culture. Together, they remind us that friendship and respect have no borders.
