- Coloring Page #1477 - Cartoon Dinosaur (Parasaurolophus)
Here is a beautiful coloring page of a Parasaurolophus, a plant-eating dinosaur that lived about 75 million years ago, during the Late Cretaceous. With its large crest shaped like a tube on its head, it was easily recognizable among other dinosaurs. Scientists believe this crest worked like a natural trumpet, helping the Parasaurolophus make sounds to communicate with its herd or to impress predators.
Unlike the fierce Tyrannosaurus rex, a terrifying carnivore, or the Pteranodon, a flying reptile soaring in the skies, the Parasaurolophus was a peaceful dinosaur. It fed on plants, leaves, and fruits, which it collected with its flat beak. Just like the famous Stegosaurus, known for the plates on its back, the Parasaurolophus was one of those impressive but harmless herbivores of prehistory.
When coloring this dinosaur, you can imagine it in realistic shades like green or brown, or invent a colorful and creative version, just like a true prehistoric artist!
