- Coloring Page #53 - Bat Against a Full Moon
An impressive coloring page of a bat spreading its wings against a full moon background! Bats are fascinating mammals: unlike birds, they are covered with fur and nurse their young. They are the only mammals capable of active flight, thanks to their wings made of thin skin stretched between their elongated fingers.
They use echolocation: by emitting very high-pitched sounds, they detect the echoes bouncing off obstacles or prey, allowing them to move around in complete darkness. Most bats eat insects, which makes them very useful for ecosystem balance, while others feed on fruit or nectar.
By coloring this drawing, you can choose a golden or silver moon, give the wings shades of black, gray, or even purple, and at the same time learn how important these mysterious yet essential animals are to nature.
