Meet a tomato... but not just any tomato! This one jumps, laughs, winks, and seems to say, “Hey, you! Ready to add a little color to my life?” Maybe her name is Tommy, Auntie Pomodoro, or even Captain Ketchup... no one really knows, because she changes her name depending on her mood. One thing is certain: she's the happiest tomato in the whole garden! As soon as the sun comes up, she bounces around with the green beans, plays hide-and-seek with the radishes, and tells jokes to the carrots (who laugh so hard they nearly lose their leafy tops).
But wait... is a tomato a fruit or a vegetable? Botanically speaking, it is indeed a fruit, because it develops from a flower and contains seeds. In the kitchen, however, we usually treat it as a vegetable because it is mostly used in savory dishes. Red, yellow, orange, green, or even almost black depending on the variety, tomatoes certainly aren't short of colors!
Our garden star naturally prefers a beautiful ripe tomato red, with green leaves and brown shoes. But you're free to invent a completely new variety! If Auntie Pomodoro is looking for some company, she can visit these two cheerful cartoon tomatoes growing in a cluster, inseparable on their stem. And if you're wondering who's laughing so loudly at the other end of the garden, go and meet this funny cartoon carrot: it has probably just heard Auntie Pomodoro's latest joke.
Between mischievous fruits and giggling vegetables, there's always something happening in our fun-filled garden fruit and vegetable coloring pages!
