- Coloring Page #301 - Harbor seal
Here is a seal, a marine mammal that lives in cold and temperate seas. It spends much of its life in the water but also likes to rest on ice or rocks. With its streamlined body and strong flippers, the seal is an excellent swimmer, able to dive very deep to look for fish, squid, or crustaceans, which make up most of its diet. Its long whiskers, clearly visible in this coloring page, are very sensitive and help it detect the movements of fish in the water.
Seals can hold their breath for several minutes, which allows them to travel long distances underwater. You can color it light gray, dark gray, or even with black and white spots, like some spotted seals. And if you'd like to discover another Arctic inhabitant, click here to see a walrus coloring page with its long tusks. By coloring this seal, you'll learn more about an amazing animal perfectly adapted to life between land and sea.
