- Coloring Page #1721 - Ankylosaurus (Herbivorous Dinosaur)
Here is a wonderful coloring page featuring an ankylosaurus, a very special dinosaur that lived about 70 million years ago, at the end of the Cretaceous period. This dinosaur was a herbivore, which means it ate only plants. It spent its days munching on leaves, ferns, and even fallen fruits.
The ankylosaurus is easy to recognize thanks to its back covered with bony plates and its tail ending in a big club. These natural protections made it a real "armored tank" of prehistory: they helped it defend itself against large predators like the tyrannosaurus. When it felt threatened, it could swing its tail with incredible strength to drive its enemies away.
As you color this drawing, you can imagine the shades of its skin and plates. Scientists believe ankylosaurs had earth-like tones, such as ochre brown, olive green, or even stone gray, to blend into their environment. But nothing stops you from giving it more original and joyful colors: why not an orange copper back, buttercup yellow plates, or even touches of azure blue? This coloring page is a great way to learn while having fun: you discover a fascinating dinosaur while letting your creativity run free.
